# The Gracemoon Arts Company & Theatre > A 501(c)3 arts organization and theatre exploring the deepest truths of human behavior through the art of acting, operating as one international community in New York and Rome. The Gracemoon Arts Company (also "Gracemoon Arts") was founded in 2017 by Michèle Lonsdale Smith and became a 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2024, opening its first theatre that year. It produces raw, real, and intimate theatre; runs the LS&CO Conservatory for the Humanitarian Arts; and closes each performance with a moderated "salon" conversation between cast and audience.
